Sam Ashurst

Sam Ashurst is a screenwriter, director and film journalist, and co-host of the Arrow Video Podcast.

His directing credits include Frankenstein’s Creature, adapted from James Swanton’s one-man play, and the experimental features A Little More Flesh and A Little More Flesh II. His films examine performance, authorship and the uneasy relationship between artists and their subjects.

For the British Horror Studio, he wrote Chronicles of Depression from a story by Lawrie Brewster. Set in a 1950s psychiatric institution, it brings together Ian McCulloch, Megan Tremethick and the studio company. He also co-wrote Place of Execution with Brewster, directed by Tom Staunton for The B-Team.
